This section of the Big Elbow Trail is its highest, though the gradients are relatively gentle. The views are astonishing and, if you're heading west, it's not far to the Tombstone Backcountry Campground, an equestrian campground with a wealth of amenities, including fire pits, pit toilets and food storage lockers.
