Police Point Park is a lovely riverside spot, situated in one of the many U-bends of the South Saskatchewan River. Back in the first half of the 20th century, the South Saskatchewan would often dangerously freeze over. The building of the Gardiner Dam in the 60s diverted much of the river's power.
