The Kamloops Ammunition, also known as the Kenna Cartwright Nature Park, stands as the largest municipal park in British Columbia, spanning nearly 800 hectares. Just outside the city limits of Kamloops this park is made up of a protected ecosystem of Ponderosa pine trees, Douglas fir, bunchgrass, and sagebrush, a vital habitat for local animals like deer, hawks, and coyotes. It got its name from the city's first female mayor, Kenna Cartwright. The park offers panoramic viewpoints, a range of challenging to easy climbs, and 40 kilometres of multi-use trails open to hiking, trail running, mountain biking, and winter snowshoeing.
