Great museum about the history of the nuclear submarine. Completely accessible, there is also an "interactive" aquarium attached (not only interesting for children 😉)

Price is about 20€ per adult - but it is a day ticket (you can go out and come back later)

La Cité de la Mer is a museum dedicated to underwater and deep-sea research. The museum is located in the former transatlantic port of Cherbourg.

Actually, there are several museums in one:

- Visit to the "Redoutable", the first nuclear submarine of the French Navy,

- Multi-media show "Downfall of the Titanic",

- 17 aquariums with more than 1,000 fish and exhibition "Man and the Sea",

- computer-aided deep-sea exploration adventure,

- Exhibition of international underwater devices or models of these devices.

Opening hours: Daily from 09:30 to 19:00.

The directions are very well signposted, the parking is free.

Admission is not cheap (€ 66, - for a family of four, as of July 2019) is worth it, especially if you have children.
