This is a small rural Calvary, typical of the plateaus of southern Corrèze:
stone or metal cross,
limestone base from the Causse,
often placed on a high point or an old crossroads,
religious marker but also a path marker.
These Calvaries were frequently installed:
on old pastoral paths,
near prehistoric burial sites (dolmens, tumuli),
or at crossing points between villages.
