The Cardinia Aqueduct Trail winds through the West Gippsland countryside following the old Cardinia Aqueduct pathway. This path has a flat, gravel surface and passes though a mix of open scrub and eucalypt forest, where wallabies are often spotted in the early morning light. Sometimes echidnas can be seen and birds like the crimson rosellas, superb fairy-wrens, and the tiny spotted pardalote.
