Myrtle Gully Circuit begins by descending from the high Mountain Ash ridges into a deep gully along Sylvia Creek. The spectacular cool-temperate rainforest is often misty and home to ancient myrtle beech trees and towering soft tree ferns. The track is damp and shaded, so mud can linger, and sometimes there are logs to climb over, but it is a popular, easy-to-follow track. The damp environment also means bush leeches are common, so wear pants or long socks and consider bringing insect repellent.
