Hiking
The "trolls" are formations that have been shaped over millennia by wind and water erosion from the 700-million-year-old, very layered dolomite rock (limestone) found here. They are amusing, bizarre shapes that, with a bit of imagination, can indeed be seen as trolls. There is a Sami legend about them that describes the formations as petrified trolls who were surprised by the morning sun at this spot while searching for a crossing to the island of Trollholmen and were turned to stone.
