Fort Tourgis is a 1850s Victorian citadel, originally built to house 346 men and mount 33 guns to protect the Alderney Breakwater.
It was later transformed into Stutzpunkt Türkenburg (Strongpoint Turk's Castle) by the occupying German forces during WWII.
