This cycle lane crosses the Waitemata Harbour alongside SH18. It goes from Hobsonville to Greenhithe. At Greenhithe it joins a cycle lane on the road up Upper Harbour Drive. To the west, to continues along Hobsonville Road. This is the only harbour crossing available at the moment that can be cycled. The alternatives are ferry services. At low tide on the west side, a wreckage of a Liberator Aircraft can be seen slowly corroding. It crashed in fog (2 August 1943) on approach to Whenuapai Airport, killing 15 of the 25 on board, including Japanese POW's.

New footbridge access on the right. The ramp over the curb seems a little dodgy last time I went over take it square on. Covered walk path gets a little slippery.
