Hiking
Just away from the crowds is a short section through more overgrown laurasilva forest that is gorgeous and quiet. This section was the highlight of our day, even without views into the valley and out to sea because of the fog.
It can easily be included in a short (or longer) loop around Pico Pereira going back through fern and blueberry meadows.
