Višegrad is a historic small town in the eastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina (in the Republika Srpska entity). It is picturesquely situated at the confluence of the rivers Drina and Rzav, just about eight kilometers from the Serbian border.

Mehmed-Paša-Sokolović Bridge: The most famous structure in the city dates from the Ottoman era (built in 1571 by the architect Mimar Sinan) and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2007. It gained worldwide literary fame through the novel "The Bridge on the Drina" by Nobel laureate Ivo Andrić.
