Juhan Smuul (* 18 February 1922 in Koguva on Muhu; † 13 April 1971 in Tallinn, Estonian SSR) was an Estonian writer and poet. He lived in the farmstead that today belongs to the Koguva Museum.

Juhan Smuul (until 1954 Johannes Schmuul) attended primary school from 1930 to 1936 in the village of Piiri on the Estonian Baltic Sea island of Muhu. Afterwards, he briefly took lessons at the Jäneda agricultural school. Smuul then fell ill and had to interrupt his education, after which he travelled to a clinic in Tartu for a cure.
