Il Torrione and La Porticciola are two of the symbols of Suvereto, a charming medieval village in the Val di Cornia. Both mark the route of the ancient castle walls, which once guarded the ancient fief.
Il Torrione: It represents the ancient main access gate to the city. Originally built by the Aldobrandeschi and later reinforced by the Pisani, it is a perfect example of a medieval Tuscan fortification.
La Porticciola: It is the other historic entrance to the town. It is connected to the Torrione by a picturesque panoramic road that runs along the walls.
