Green Timbers Urban Forest Park is one of Surrey’s largest natural areas, with more than 10 kilometres of trails that wind through a dense second-growth forest surrounding a small fishing lake, wetlands, and open meadows. Known as the “birthplace of reforestation” in British Columbia, the park was replanted after extensive logging in the early 1900s and now supports a surprising variety of wildlife, including bald eagles, owls, woodpeckers, ducks, and salamanders. Despite being surrounded by the city, the forested setting feels remarkably secluded, making it a popular place for walking, cycling, birdwatching, and quiet nature outings.
