Hiking
Start Point is one of the most exposed peninsulas on the English coast, jutting abruptly almost one mile (1.5 km) into the sea. Start Point Lighthouse, at the end of the headland, has guided ships safely along the English Channel for more than 150 years. The hike to Start Point Lighthouse is spectacular; the dramatic cliffs and picturesque landscape is breathtaking and awe-inspiring views stretch as far as the Isle of Portland on a clear day.
