Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk is a long-distance, 54-kilometre track that connects the forests, valleys, and escarpments of the Gold Coast hinterland. This section passes through the Waterfall Creek valley under the western slopes of Springbrook National Park. The track winds through rainforest and eucalypt forest below towering white rhyolite cliffs formed by the ancient Tweed Volcano. While the circuit only follows the Great Walk briefly, the rugged scenery is a good example of why the longer trail is so well known.
