The Erme Estuary is a serene place to explore. It is tidal up as far as the weir at Flete, 3.5 miles (5.5 km) inland. There is no ferry service from Mothecombe to Wonwell, so you will need to either wade across within one hour of low tide or follow the diversion inland through the lanes to the A379.
