The Monument of Fallen Heroes (Pomník padlých hrdinov) commemorates the inhabitants of Banská Štiavnica who fell during World War II and the Slovak National Uprising of 1944. The monument stands in the city center and was unveiled after the war as a place for official anniversary ceremonies.
