Located along the Ship's Stern Circuit in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park, Koolanbilba Lookout opens up across the Numinbah Valley toward landmarks including Egg Rock and Turtle Rock. The viewpoint sits near the escarpment edge, creating a contrast to the dense rainforest surrounding the track. Mist and low cloud often move through the valley, especially after rain, changing visibility quickly and giving the lookout a very different feel depending on conditions.
