The "Krumme Haus" is one of the oldest and historically most significant buildings in Bützow. It is located at Schlossplatz 2 and today serves as a multifunctional cultural venue: city library, local history museum, and documentation center on the political abuse of the penal system.
The building ensemble dates back to the 15th century and was part of the episcopal castle complex of Bützow.
Originally, it served as an outbuilding and horse stable (built in the Brick Romanesque style under Bishop Nikolaus I. Böddeker).
