In Inverkeithing there was once a 14th-century Franciscan monastery. The former monastery guesthouse still exists today and dates from the 15th century. It is the best-preserved of its kind in Scotland.
The garden adjoining the building was once the monastery grounds.
Next to the monastery guesthouse, there is also an old cannon from a merchant ship dating from around 1780 to 1810. It was found in 1964 in a garden while digging.
