Wij säteri was founded in 1797, a bar iron forge where pig iron from Åbron's blast furnace was processed. The mill was part of Ockelboverken, the most successful mill company in Gästrikland in the 18th century, with operations in several locations in northern Gästrikland and southern Hälsingland.
