The path is pretty and part paved, part crushed gravel. As of late 2025 and early 2026, sections of the Sawmill Valley Creek Trail are closed due to washouts from the creek. Signage about this is very clear where relevant, and you can detour via neighbourhood roads to avoid the worst of the closures.
