Härtsfeldbahn Rail Trail: Ziertheim to Wittislingen

A beautiful cycle path on the old Härtsfeld Railway embankment. Shady sections alternate with sunny ones, offering views of the Dattenhauser Ried. The road surface is mostly in good condition, but there are a few cracks and dents to watch out for.Edit 01/2022: A short section (about 500 meters) has now been graveled. However, it is relatively fine gravel, so you can still ride there with a road bike.Edit 03/2025: Almost all of the asphalt has now been removed and replaced with fine and slippery gravel. Unfortunately, the path is no longer suitable for road bikes.

That is probably the former Härtsfeldbahn - now asphalted .. sometimes a bit bumpy - really nice to drive with children because it is completely separated from the road

Very nice and quiet route, but with the RR watch out for the cracks in the road!
