The Maidstone Conservation Area stretches over 50 acres of oak-hickory woodland forests. This patch of forest stands out among the farmlands it is engulfed by, remaining wild and original. Keep an eye out for bent white oak trees historically shaped by Indigenous peoples as markers along their travel routes. These are called “signal trees," and a few remain in this forest.
