The star is a recurring symbol in the iconography linked to the Barbaro family (owners of the famous Villa Palladiana in Maser, not far away). The family's noble coat of arms, in fact, includes a red circle (ring) on a white field, but the eight-pointed star is often associated with local symbolism and the historical decorations of the area.
