The Howe Sound Crest Trail offers a beautiful route that traces the high ridges above Howe Sound (Squamish: Átl’ka7tsem). This challenging 29-kilometer route follows the spine of the mountains, passing iconic peaks such as Saint Mark's Summit and the twin granite spires of Ch'ich'iyúy Elxwíkn (The Lions). You can take this as an out-and-back day hike, or make it an overnight excursion with proper planning. It should be noted that though the distance isn't difficult the challenging terrain definitely can be. Expect rocky scrambles and exposed sections that require previous experience and skill to negotiate safely.
