On February 18, 1984, a MiG-21 PF from the 1st Air Force Regiment crashed near Kolonia Czarno. Pilot Major Jerzy Moryc was killed. The mission was a technical test run after replacing a fuel pump. At an altitude of 14,000 meters, contact with the pilot was lost. The aircraft plunged vertically into the ground. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
