Lightning Swamp Bushland protects a rare wetland and bushland area within Perth’s northern suburbs. The reserve is a mix of paperbark wetlands, open bushland and seasonal swamp habitat that supports a variety of birdlife and native plants. During the winter months, the wetland fills with water, attracting waterbirds and creating a quiet natural refuge surrounded by suburban development.
