Tarpan-like Konik horses (more than 150 individuals) were brought to Nalibokskaya Pushcha from the Netherlands in 2019 to restore ecosystems. These "ecological engineers" maintain open meadows, preventing shrubbery and helping create favorable conditions for other animals. The semi-wild horses have adapted well, their population is growing, and they have become a popular ecotourism destination.
