Legends and rumors about the lake:
There are many legends and puzzles from days long past. On the one hand, this rumor about sunken treasures and gold persists. Locals from this time report of large Wehrmacht convoys that flew up to Alatsee while fleeing from the Allies. During the Second World War the Alatsee was a restricted military area. On the other hand, there is supposed to be a narrow hole in the middle of the lake, where the lake widens down like an hourglass. Old legends report that the Alatsee is immeasurably deep and houses a monster. Another legend tells of three enchanted women who try to lure men (knights) into the depths of the lake to be redeemed. It is said that even in our days voices are heard there on some nights calling for help. A force field is said to be located above the Alatsee, which extends in an energy path from the Alatsee to a triangular meadow.
