Sanctuary and place of prayer, apparition of the Madonna. In May 1944, the young girl Adelaide Roncalli reported that the Madonna had appeared to her and that she had received some revelations. The news spread quickly, and that meadow at Ghiaie became a popular spot for the faithful, a place of prayer and suffering.
