Ribadesella is a council of the autonomous community of the Principality of Asturias, Spain. It limits to the north with the Cantabrian Sea, to the east with Llanes, to the south with Cangas de Onís and Parres and to the west with Caravia. Founded by Alfonso X the Wise. It was one of the main Asturian ports of the 19th century.

Ribadesella is a Spanish municipality and also a city in the Autonomous Community of Asturias at the mouth of the Sella River (Spanish: Rio Sella - hence the name).
The city with 5746 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) is 1 - 42 m above sea level on the Cantabrian Sea on an area of 84.37 km² on the coastal landscape of Costa Verde. The nearest large cities Gijón, Oviedo and Santander are 60, 80 and 115 km away. The Pico Mofrecho (897 m) is the highest point in the municipality.Ribadesella is a station on the Way of St. James, more precisely the Camino del Norte.

Ribadesella is a wonderful place to relax.
At the harbor great restaurants with highly recommended fish and seafood.
Nice quiet hotels on the beach.
You can hear the waves and I always recommend a sea view room.
For hiking, it is not far to the Picos de Europs.
