At the height of the hot spring and resort activities (1870s to 1930s) the Hoberg brothers, whose resort is on the other side of Cobb mountain, built a landing strip for their guests, and were flying private planes themselves for a while. The airstrip is now barely visible in a long flat meadow, actually just below Seigler Hot Springs, a somewhat competing resort. The airstrip might have served several resorts, including Howard Springs.
