A cross in a clearing by the tracks, where several dozen train passengers, including women and children, were murdered.
On June 16, 1944, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Zachariasz Procyk, a Ukrainian train driver from Żurawiec, unexpectedly stopped a Zamość-Bełżec-Rawa Ruska-Lviv train in the forest near Zatyla. It was then that the UPA attacked, inflicting an unimaginable massacre on the train's Polish passengers.
