The Lake Chelan–Sawtooth Wilderness stands as one of north-central Washington’s most rugged and remote mountain areas, stretching across more than 150,000 acres. It is wedged between Lake Chelan and the Methow Valley, and it’s known for wildflower-covered meadows, granite peaks, and a network of backcountry lakes. This area is home to black bears, mule deer, mountain goats, and many types of birds, and is quieter than many Washington wilderness areas.
