The Hartland Bridge, spanning the Saint John River in Hartland, New Brunswick, Canada, is the longest covered bridge in the world, measuring 390.75 meters in length.

Completed in 1901, the bridge was acquired by the local government in 1906. Originally, the bridge was open-sided. It wasn't until 1920, when two sections of the bridge collapsed due to the river freezing over, that the bridge was reopened in 1922 after repairs. Despite local opposition, these repairs were used as an opportunity to convert the bridge into a covered structure.
