The seat of the citizenship and the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is reminiscent of a castle in the middle of the city center. The neoclassical building was built by a group of architects called the "Rathausbaumeisterbund" between 1884 and 1897.
The town hall is not only beautiful to look at, but also has impressive rooms inside. The entrance area alone with its massive columns is impressive and freely accessible to everyone.
