The name may be a mouthful, but it really does describe what you'll see here: A natural rock "dam" that separates Little Cedar Lake from Cedar Lake, creating a difference of several feet between the water levels of the two lakes. The result is a natural spillway that generates some modest rapids.

On a typical day, you can pick your way across the rocks of the spillway/dam and cross the stretch easily and safely. When the water runs high, however, this crossing becomes unsafe and you'll need to detour around Little Cedar Lake to the south.
