It is 15 kilometers long and connects the municipality of Seropédica to the municipality of Itaguaí. Starting from BR-465, the old Rio-São Paulo highway, it continues to the Rio-Santos Highway. Created in the 1950s as part of RJ-014, this highway is also known as the Piranema Straight, because it is, literally, a long straight stretch.
