Buffalo Pound Lake was created and is now regulated by a dam that helps supply drinking water to Regina, Moose Jaw, and other towns. Along the lake, especially in Buffalo Pound Provincial Park, are campgrounds, hiking and biking trails, beach areas, boating access, and popular fishing for walleye, pike, and perch.
