Hiking
The three wash houses in Vers-Pont-du-Gard were built in the 19th century. Their interiors contain two interconnected basins: the first, filled with soapy water, was used for washing, while the second, with clear water, was used for rinsing.
Adapted to the region's climate, where the mistral wind can be strong and cold, these wash houses feature a north-facing wall that acts as a windbreak to protect the washerwomen.
