View of Graz from Fürstenstand

A detour to the ventilation shaft is recommended for those who want to make additional meters off the Fürstenstandstraße. This "little detour" is now even signposted, legally accessible and brings about +200 meters in altitude.

If the Plabutsch alone is not enough from a sporting point of view, I recommend joining Straßgang. Via Florianibergstraße to Bildbaum, then via the Orthacker inn to St. Johann and Paul. Then over the Gaisbergsattel to the Fürstenstand and over the gravel road down to Thalbachstraße.
If you want to go further, you can drive to Tiefenbachstraße, thread safely into the gravel road and can either drive to the Gösting ruins or Plankenwart Castle. :)

The access to the viewing platform has been closed for a long time and will probably remain so for the whole of 2020.

... my tip would be: Coming from Gösting towards Thalersee, at kl. Fishing pond to left at an acute angle up the forest road, on the medium-steep forest road. you reach, after the game reserve, the asphalt mountain road, right. Turning in one soon comes to the state of the princes.
Then departure to Herrgott a.d. Wies, around the barrier to the Steinberg, further steep ascent to the little church Johann .u Paul, first a beautiful, later quite stony path, follow the sign! Passing Florianiberg you reach Gedersberg.
Rüchfahrt via Manscha, quite nice, to Steinberg, etc. - Or departure to Strassgang, past the bath, up to St. Martin Castle, further back i. d. City.
