On September 2, 1982, at 10:29 a.m., a MiG-21 crashed into the ground near Rogów, with pilot Stanisław Pawlak at the controls. The pilot is a hero to the locals because, instead of ejecting from the falling aircraft, he decided to pull it out, seeing school ahead, and it was a Wednesday – a school day.
