The Wildside Trail follows an ancient Ahousaht First Nation route that once linked villages along the island’s western coast. Today, the trails are maintained by the Ahousaht people and open to respectful visitors. Wildside Trail is not a technically difficult walk, but it is remote and wild. Keep an eye out for Grey and humpback whales, harbor seals, sea otters, bald eagles, blacktail deer, and black bears.
