The Lichtenegg castle ruin is probably a medieval aristocratic castle above the village of the same name Lichtenegg. The castle was first mentioned in a document 700 years ago. The castle ruins are freely accessible at any time, and the visit is free. The ruin has belonged to the municipality of Birgland since 1998 and is with private funds, restored. In front of the ruin there are showcases with the finds. When the weather is nice you have a great view, e.g. to the Fichtelgebirge. Be sure to enjoy the view. There are also tables and benches to rest.
