At the lower end of Beachcroft Ave is this bay, the Onehunga Bay reserve. Summer (and winter for the keen) paddling and s winch for wake boards. The two southern foot bridges link this and Orpheus Drive. From the top of the southern most bridge you have a great view of the Manukau Harbour heads. The drive is named after the ship the HMS Orpheus which was wrecked (7 February 1863) on the bar entry with major loss of life. 189 died and remains the worst Maritime disaster in New Zealand history.

To the South, you can also see the volcanic cone of Mangere mountain.

Well maintained park with beautiful sunset and lots of dogs.

This is the real New Zealand vibe.

Lots of open space for walking, running, socializing and exercising. Clean, wide paths and bridges. Playground for the kids, view of the harbor and the dogs love swimming in the lagoon. Lots of other dogs with friendly owners, plenty of parking. It's lovely here, enjoy the morning and evening walks. Wheelchair accessible!
