Tips

The leading over the Albis Buchenegg is rightly called Pass. Although at first glance the difference in altitude is not too strong, this section really does make you sweat.

Compared to the Albispass less traffic but also a slightly narrower street. There is a restaurant on the pass.

You can arrive to the Buchenegg from the West side and you will find a ca 3 km climb with just a few cars and a lot of space. The climb is pretty challenging, especially at the beginning, but then you will arrive at the top where the view is just special. You can find even a better view during the downhill, and it is curious to see a bathtub just after the top on the right hand side, probably cows use it to drink.
Small training tip: start from the Buchenegg west side, than go down till the Albisstraße and take the right, so you can start climbing the Albispass from the Eastside. Once finished you can go down, take your way back to Zurich and repeat again Buchenegg and Albis. ca 1000m altitude in a few kilometers.
