Hikers have reported territorial eagles nesting along this section of trail, particularly just beyond the first bench. Birds have been seen swooping close to people when defending their nests. If you’re hiking here in late spring or summer, keep your distance from treetops, move calmly, and avoid lingering in the area. Travel in pairs when possible, and consider visiting outside nesting season to reduce disturbance and stay safe.
